Terry Everitt: Evidence Over Opinion, Always

The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.

Meet: Terry Everitt

Professor Terry Everitt - Advisory Council

Terry Everitt has been involved in clinical aesthetics since 1990. He initially trained in Los Angeles, where he witnessed the introduction of CO2 lasers, Botox, and tumescent liposuction to the aesthetic field. In the decades since, he has written more than 200 articles for aesthetic journals, shaped university-level curriculum, and earned the title of Professor of Aesthetic Sciences.

Terry is the Director of Aesthetic Educators Pty Ltd and one of Australia’s most qualified voices in cosmetic chemistry and evidence-based aesthetic practice. His academic credentials include a Master of Education from UTS, a Bachelor of Health Science (Aesthetics) from UNE, a Bachelor of Adult Education from the University of Southern California, and a CIDESCO Diploma, among others. He is a former CIDESCO International Examiner, a Nationally Certified Medical Aesthetic Specialist (USA), and a member of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists and the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists.

In the higher education space, Terry played a foundational role in developing the Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics), writing most of the degree content, serving on the inaugural Course Advisory Committee, and serving as a Senior Lecturer. He also contributed to the quality management committees for the Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Aesthetics) at UNE and the Skin Science Program at the University of Queensland.

Terry has spent more than three decades fighting for higher educational standards in clinical aesthetics, and his message hasn’t changed: evidence-based practice is non-negotiable. He wants practitioners and clinic owners to demand the same rigour in their ongoing education as they received in their clinical training, and to build their treatment protocols on published research rather than brand marketing or social media trends. The clinics that earn long-term trust are the ones that can explain not just what they do, but why the science supports it.

He serves as an external educational consultant for the Aesthetic Practitioners Advisory Network and sits on both the National Advisory Board and Journal Advisory Board. In 2003, he received the nationally recognised Services to Industry Award for his dedication to educational ideals and competencies.

As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Terry Everitt brings the authority of someone who has spent over three decades setting the educational standards that underpin clinical practice in Australia. He understands that the quality of a clinic starts with the quality of its training foundations. Entrants who demonstrate a genuine commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and clinical rigour will stand out in his assessment.
