Mariza Nuttall: The Device Isn’t the Strategy

The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.

Meet: Mariza Nuttall

🎉 Congratulations to Mariza Nuttall, WSO Ambassador for Australia, for her brilliant presence at MedTech Symposium

When a new device lands in a clinic, the excitement is immediate. The first clients get booked in, and the Instagram posts go up before the protocols are fully understood. Mariza Nuttall has spent more than three decades making sure that’s not how it plays out for the clinics she works with.

Mariza wants clinic owners to stop treating new technology as a business strategy. A device is a tool. The strategy is how you train your team to use it, how you integrate it into your treatment protocols, how you price it, and how you educate your clients about why it matters. She’s spent three decades watching clinics invest in equipment they never fully utilise because the training, the protocols, and the commercial framework behind the purchase weren’t given the same attention as the purchase itself.

Mariza is a CIDESCO Diplomat, qualified aesthetician, and one of Australia’s most respected educators in aesthetic technology. She currently serves as Trainer for Biotec Italia and Medispa Solutions, delivering advanced education to clinics, practitioners, and business owners across the country. Her philosophy is straightforward: technology must be delivered with knowledge, accountability, and commercial understanding, not enthusiasm alone.

Mariza has presented at major international and national industry events, including London Olympia Beauty Expo and Professional Beauty, delivering presentations on trending technologies, innovation, and the responsible integration of advanced treatment modalities. Biotec Italia has formally recognised her with an award for outstanding achievement in merging technologies, reflecting her ability to integrate multi-modality systems into cohesive, results-driven treatment protocols.

She is also the creator and host of the Medtech Symposium, one of Australia’s leading forums for aesthetic and medical innovation. The Symposium brings together industry leaders, technology pioneers, and forward-thinking practitioners to explore emerging advancements and evidence-based protocols. From 2022 to 2025, Mariza served as the Australian Ambassador for World SPA, representing Australian standards of practice on a global stage.

As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Mariza brings a lens shaped by decades of evaluating how clinics adopt, implement, and commercialise technology. She’ll be looking for businesses that invest in proper training, evidence-based protocols, and responsible implementation rather than chasing the newest device without the knowledge to back it up.
