Inside Lisa Rush’s Nurse and Doctor-Led Approach to Aesthetic Medicine

The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.

Meet: Lisa Rush

Lisa Rush | Sydney's Premier Skin Treatment Clinic

Lisa Rush has spent 16 years building a career spanning both clinical nursing and aesthetic medicine, and her clinic reflects every lesson learned along the way.

Lisa is a Registered Nurse in Aesthetic Medicine and the founder of Lisa Rush Skin Clinic, a nurse and doctor-led medispa in Paddington, Sydney, offering advanced skin treatments, cosmetic injectables, body contouring, laser therapies, and clinical facials. The clinic operates under a philosophy Lisa describes as Beauty with Integrity: producing natural-looking results grounded in facial balance, anatomical understanding, and individualised treatment planning.

Lisa Rush | Sydney's Premier Skin Treatment Clinic
Lisa originally trained as a Registered Nurse in the UK, specialising in adult care, before completing a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Bournemouth University. After moving to Australia, she transitioned from acute care nursing into plastic surgery and aesthetics, working alongside some of the country’s most respected cosmetic clinics and plastic surgeons. That background gave her a clinical foundation that most practitioners in the aesthetic space don’t share, and it shapes every consultation and treatment she delivers.

Lisa doesn’t treat medical oversight as a compliance checkbox; she builds it into the foundation of how their clinic operates. Her practice operates on a nurse-and-doctor-led model, with medical involvement from the first consultation. At a client’s initial consultation, a full medical history is obtained, and a consultation with one of her doctors is conducted if a prescriptive treatment is required. Lisa believes that this structure is what separates clinics that deliver consistent, safe outcomes from those that rely on individual skill alone. Her message is that the best patient experiences are underpinned by systems, not personalities.

Lisa Rush Skin Clinic has built a loyal client base in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs through a combination of clinical skill, attention to detail, and the kind of trust that comes from practitioners who listen first and treat second. The clinic’s treatment menu spans wrinkle reduction, bioremodelling, facial volumising, Ultraformer MPT skin tightening, Fotona 4D laser, RF skin needling, HydraFacials, chemical peels, microneedling, and hair restoration, supported by a curated retail offering including iS Clinical, SkinCeuticals, Universkin, and Rejuran.

As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Lisa Rush brings the perspective of a clinician who has built a premium aesthetic practice from the ground up with clinical governance at its core. She understands the operational demands of running a medispa, the importance of team capability, and the discipline required to maintain high standards while growing commercially. Entrants who demonstrate a commitment to clinical integrity, patient-centred care, and the kind of consistency that builds lasting trust will stand out in her assessment.
