The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.
Meet: Kym Cowper

If you’ve read an article about aesthetics in an Australian trade publication, there’s a good chance Kym Cowper helped make it happen.
Kym Cowper is the Commercial Partnerships Manager at SPA+CLINIC, Australia’s leading B2B media platform for aesthetics and wellness professionals. Backed by Intermedia, one of Australia’s major trade media companies, SPA+CLINIC reaches an audience that includes doctors, plastic surgeons, cosmetic nurses, spa managers, skin and laser specialists, and day spa operators across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific. Kym drives national advertising sales across the platform’s full ecosystem: quarterly print, daily online content, daily social media, weekly e-newsletters, and annual experiential events.
She brings over 18 years of publisher-side experience in advertising, marketing, and account management to the role. Her career includes key positions at iconic industry platforms such as Beauty Directory and beautyheaven, where she developed deep expertise in account management, digital sales, and strategic campaign development.
Kym is known for her consultative, collaborative approach. She works with brands to craft cross-media advertising and branded content opportunities that align with commercial objectives and produce measurable results. Her philosophy centres on exceptional service and innovative solutions that adapt to each advertiser’s needs, and her genuine interest in problem-solving has made her a trusted resource across the industry.
Kym wants clinic owners to understand that their brand story reaches prospective patients long before a consultation. The way a business presents itself in trade media, on social platforms, and through its content is the first impression it makes on both consumers and industry peers. Every day, she watches how brands position themselves publicly, and the ones that build lasting visibility invest in telling a consistent, credible story rather than chasing visibility for its own sake.
As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Kym brings a unique perspective on the industry’s brand landscape. She understands how businesses position themselves publicly, what messaging resonates with professional audiences, and what separates brands that build lasting visibility from those that chase short-term noise. Entrants can expect her to assess how well a business communicates its story, not just how well it performs clinically.
