The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.
Meet: Jo Hannah
Jo spent years as a Registered Nurse before recognising that the clinicians she admired most weren’t just skilled practitioners. They were confident business leaders. The ones who struggled weren’t lacking clinical ability. They were missing operational clarity, commercial frameworks, and support to run a business without burning out.
Jo is the owner of Hannah Aesthetics on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and the CEO of Salus Aesthetic Group, a platform in Western Australia built exclusively for the state’s aesthetic nurse community. Salus provides prescribing solutions, product supply, clinical training, and compliance support through a proprietary digital platform and app, giving cosmetic nurses access to responsive local medical governance and the operational infrastructure they need to grow their businesses with confidence. The platform was created to address a long-standing gap: WA practitioners have historically been underserved by the support systems available on the East Coast, and Salus was built to change that.
Jo’s leadership credentials extend well beyond a single venture. She served as CEO of Total Face Group, the aesthetic medicine sector’s first ASX-listed company, where she gained deep experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, scalable growth strategies, and the operational complexity of running a publicly listed business. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), reflecting her commitment to governance standards that most clinic owners in the aesthetic space haven’t encountered.
Jo’s background combines hands-on clinical experience with corporate leadership at the highest level, giving her a perspective that bridges the treatment room and the boardroom in a way very few people in this industry can. She understands what it takes to run a single clinic well and to scale an aesthetic business within the regulatory, financial, and governance frameworks that serious growth demands.
She wants clinic owners to build businesses that don’t depend on them being in the room. She’s operated at every level of this industry, and the consistent lesson across all of it is that businesses built around one person hit a ceiling that no amount of effort can push through. Her message is that strong governance, documented systems, and empowered teams aren’t corporate luxuries. They’re the foundations of a business that holds its value whether or not the founder is present.
As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Jo Hannah brings the perspective of someone who has operated at every level of this industry, from practitioner to clinic owner to ASX-listed CEO to platform founder. She’ll be looking for businesses that demonstrate strong leadership, clear operational systems, sound governance, and a model that can sustain growth without compromising clinical standards or compliance.
