The Aesthetic Business Masters Awards are judged by people who know this industry from the inside. Not observers, but practitioners, founders, strategists, and educators who have built businesses, led teams, navigated regulation, and sat across the table from clinic owners working through the same challenges you are. This series introduces you to the people behind the scorecard, so you know exactly who’s reading your submission and what they’ll be looking for.
Meet: Jamal Ammar

Jamal knows what it’s like to avoid mirrors. As a teenager dealing with severe cystic acne, he experienced firsthand the emotional toll that skin concerns carry, the self-consciousness, the frustration, and the feeling that nothing works. That personal history drives everything he does today.
Jamal is a Registered Nurse and the founder of SkinXLulu and Luluaesthetica, a boutique aesthetic practice in Sydney’s Inner West specialising in cosmetic injectables, advanced skin treatments, and holistic skin wellness. His clinic is gender-neutral and inclusive, built on the belief that confidence comes from healthy, nourished skin rather than trends or rigid beauty standards.
His clinical philosophy centres on multimodality treatment planning, combining cutting-edge technology, bespoke skincare protocols, and a deep understanding of facial anatomy to create personalised results. He invests over 300 hours annually in advanced training, reflecting a commitment to staying at the forefront of the field.
Jamal also serves as a leading trainer for Cryomed Aesthetics and as an NSW Ambassador for Evolus, where he mentors fellow practitioners and helps raise industry standards. He has spoken at major industry events, including Cosmedicon and the Fresh Life Conference, and his expertise has been featured multiple times in SPA+CLINIC magazine.
Jamal built SkinXLulu from a deeply personal starting point, and his message for clinic owners is grounded in the same philosophy: the best clinics are built by people who create the experience they wish they’d had as patients. He wants practitioners to think about what their clients feel when they walk through the door, not just what treatment they receive. Inclusivity, genuine care, and a space where every client feels seen and respected aren’t brand differentiators. They’re the baseline for a practice that earns loyalty.
As a judge for the Aesthetic Business Masters Awards, Jamal Ammar brings the perspective of a practitioner who built a clinic from a deeply personal starting point and grew it into a respected, inclusive practice. He understands the importance of patient connection, brand authenticity, and clinical standards that go beyond surface-level results. Entrants who demonstrate genuine care for their clients, a strong clinic culture, and innovation grounded in clinical integrity will stand out in his assessment.
