A Gamechanger for Injectors – the New AccuVein AV500

Clients attend cosmetic clinics to enhance their appearance, the last thing they expect is to walk out with a bruise. Injecting the face can be like walking through a minefield. While the vascular anatomy is generally well understood, individual variability means there is still an element of guess work. Imagine how much more effective and precise an injector could be with an accurate map of the vasculature highlighted on the surface of the skin?

Enter the AccuVein! Considered a ‘game changer’ for those who choose to use it, the AccuVein AV500, uses a series of infrared and visible laser lights to identify and highlight veins to a depth of 10mm. This state-of-the-art medical device is now being used by more than 500 medical practitioners across Australia. For cosmetic injections, this device enables more effective procedures with less patient discomfort.

Safety First with AccuVein AV500

With the facial veins highlighted on the surface of the skin, any injector can easily see exactly where blood vessels are – and can avoid them.

“When injecting fillers, especially in the tear trough, nasolabial folds and lips, the AccuVein is very useful to avoid ‘invisible’ veins to prevent intravascular injection and bruising. I also use it in the lateral canthal region to avoid the veins that can easily bruise and make unhappy patients.”

Dr. Joe Niamtu, Virginia, USA

Variety of cosmetic applications

While useful for avoiding veins with injectables, the AccuVein also has application for a variety of cosmetic procedures such as sclerotherapy and endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) where the device can be used to locate veins, find the source or feeder veins, then visually verify the efficacy of treatment. All this is done in consultation with the patient – showing exactly what veins will require treatment.

The AccuVein can also be used with PRP procedures, and general blood draws, particularly for difficult to cannulate patients.

Great Outcomes – Result in Greater Patient Satisfaction

The outcome results of procedures using the AccuVein AV500 result in higher patient satisfaction – which is why so many cosmetic and medical facilities have now chosen to incorporate AccuVein into their standard of care.

“It almost becomes part of the patient experience. They have added confidence in the practitioner using the AccuVein, because they see they are taking that care” Dr Gavin Chan, Victorian Cosmetic Institute Australia
